News > Live In Carlsbad Village

As if the close proximity of the beach weren’t enough of an attraction, people who live in condos and townhomes in Carlsbad Village have the advantage of enjoying a small-town, walkable lifestyle. The feeling of community that Carlsbad Village exudes is unusual for a San Diego beach community, with plenty of restaurants, shopping, events and yes, the beach.

State Street is lined with boutique stores and retail outlets covering everything from antiques to the latest fashions. Foodies enjoy the wide variety of restaurants offering casual breakfasts and lunches featuring fresh California fare to fine dining with an emphasis on seafood. Then there's the popular Pizza Port Brewing Company - a great place to enjoy local beers and have a bite to eat too.  All of this is pleasantly walkable, without heavy traffic you find in other San Diego area beach towns.

Plenty of Events in Carlsbad Village!

Part of the charm of Carlsbad Village includes the number of events that bring the whole community together.  Here is a sampling:

  • Arts in the Village is an annual August affair that celebrates local artists and their works.
  • Shoppers flock to the area every Wednesday to take advantage of fresh, organic produce at the Farmer’s Market.
  • Flicks at the Fountain is a weekly opportunity each summer to enjoy a popular movie on an outside screen.
  • The Village comes alive each Friday night during the summer from May through July when musicians play everything from rock to bluegrass on local street corners.
  • For special shows, the Carlsbad Village Theatre offers films, variety shows and comedy.
  • Art galleries in the Shops at Village Fair display a wide variety of paintings, lithographs and sculptures. Start with a wine tasting at the Witch Creek Winery or RELM Wine and Beer Bistro, then tour the likes of the Oceanside Art Gallery, Front Porch Gallery or Phantom Gallery to get a dose of culture.

There are only a small number of condo and townhome communities here, which mostly has small, older homes.  Laguna Point condos is a half-mile from the Carlsbad Village action. These large condos are just a street removed from the beach, which means they are more affordable than oceanfront property.

A newcomer to Carlsbad Village is Seagrove Townhomes, an urban development built by Taylor Morrison, with three stories and a rooftop patio.  This development is next to Laguna Point and right on State Street, so it's an easy walk to the action of Carlsbad Village.

With easy access to the Coaster commuter railway, the beach and I-5, the condos in downtown Carlsbad offer a nice mixture of big city conveniences and small-town appeal. It’s nice to be able to park your car in the garage and walk to everything in this cozy town area.
